Italian Dolomites

While in Kunta Hora, I was invited to join a friend to hike the Italian Dolomites, so I travelled by train from Prague to Munich. The next day, I rented a car, and drove through Innsbruck arriving in Ortisei that afternoon.

We spent four full days hiking in Ortisei & ate some really great food. Lunch was often at a Rifugio and dinner at one of the many great restaurants in town. It was so nice to spend some time in nature and get back into the mountains. The Dolomites were really incredible, such a well structured tourist area with gondola’s, public transit, guest houses, etc. Perfect for any hiker or mountain bike enthusiast.

After Ortisei we travelled to the East Dolomites, visiting Lake Brais and hiking the Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop in the Cadini range.

From there we spent a day walking around Saltzburg before returning the car to Munich.

While enjoying a coffee I noticed these hedgehog dolls in a toy store across the street. I suddenly had memories of playing with one of these when I was a child.
